Traditional Schools

Sande / Bondo

It could be found in all districts provinces and headquarters, the North,South,East and even the Western Area Freetown.

These are traditional schools that were introduced by ancestors then accepted by female heroines like Madam Yoko,  Elder Kobolo  Golama and others, embraced the concept of Bondo Society  to teach young girls about: Nursing baby and child bearing , Cooking, Marriage, Civic Rights and above all female responsibility in national development and addressing societal  issues.  

Poro Society

This traditional School was introduced by the Bai Bureh, Alimamy Suluku, Foe Mansa Maturi, and other traditional Heroes, they believed this school as served as to teach fundamentals basic principles, which has guided man in his operations in every spheres within the boundaries of Sierra Leone. In this school every man is expected to learn basic Governance, Politics, Gorrilla Wars, Hunting, Family Welfare, Leadership and Negotiation.
